Rodney Harrison Is Getting Blasted For His Ridiculous Pregame Comments As Chiefs Rookie WR Xavier Worthy Makes Him Eat His Words In The Worst Way
Rodney Harrison didn’t have to wait long to eat his words after suggesting Kansas City Chiefs rookie Xavier Worthy shouldn’t be considered a threat.
The Chiefs appear to have drafted an unbelievable talent, with the former Texas wide receiver speeding into the end zone for a touchdown on his first touch of the football against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.
You can see the play in the video below:
Harrison, a two-time Super Bowl-winning safety, discussed the rookie before the game and criticized his size, calling him a “little skinny guy.”
“Xavier Worthy is this little skinny guy, he doesn’t scare me,” he said during NBC’s preview, “I know he is fast, but he doesn’t scare me.”
Fans Clowned Rodney Harrison Over His Xavier Worthy Comment
Given Worthy’s early impact, Harrison’s comments haven’t aged well.
“Dumba***,” one fan wrote.
“Oh boy. This isn’t gonna age well,” someone else said.
“It took all of 5 plays for Rodney Harrison to look like a fool with this pregame comment,” another observed.
“Doesn’t scare you till he’s 25 yards behind you,” one added.
“I’d rather my wide receiver score touchdowns than be feared by Rodney Harrison, but that’s just me,” someone else wrote.
“I believe Rodney Harrison said Xavier Worthy was a “small skinny man” and that “he doesn’t scare me” in the pre-game? Enjoy Brazil Rodney you f***ing idiot,” a user shot.
Xavier Worthy looks a real threat so far and came close to scoring a second touchdown in the second quarter.
It appears he will make it very difficult for Harrison to live his ill-advised statement down.
